Fly looks great Mike
I don't fish or tie flies for recognition, fame or glory!! I fish because the river draws me with its peace and beauty.

The throat is wrapped like a regular hackle, then you sweep them all down and back with your fingers and a little saliva and then catch them in a catching loop with your thread to hold them there. A little drop of penetrating super glue will lock it there.

Thanks that makes it perfectly clear and why it looks so full compared to how i tie mine

Here are the wood duck shoulders.  I had originally mounted wood duck and a thin sliver of teal married together but the wing is very low profile and the wood duck plus teal looked a little too fat so I went with just the wood duck since it pops alot more than the plain looking teal. I'll try to find a few decent jungle cock eyes now.

Finally got my GP crest to sit half decent on top of the wing. A materials issue again. Trying to get a crest that is slightly cocked one way to sit on a wing that is slightly cocked the opposite way is a bloody maddening exercise. I've said it a million times and I'll say it again. Good quality materials really make things alot easier. I just have to lacquer the head a few times and this one is done.

Hey Mike  thats a  fantastic  fly and thank you soo much for  doing the  pics / tips.  I am thinking maybe of moving this to the tutorial section if you don't mind  since there is soo much information in it.   Pm me if your ok with that!!
