Nymph Speckles

Think this will fit into the nymph topic. I could be wrong , I don't know anything about nymphs. Just starting to catch on with flies.

Interesting nymph. I would suggest that you build the thorax up thicker than the abdomen. It will give a truer profile to a mayfly or damselfly nymph. Build the thorax to almost twice the size of the abdomen. Wing case should be 1/3 to 2/5ths the abdomen length or shank length. Try that and see how they turn out. Tail is alittle long and legs are good. Legs should be shank length or slightly shorter. Do you have a proportions chart for nymphs. I can post one for you, if you like.

Your  flies are  getting  better all the time speckles.  Garhan  offered  great advice  and I would like to see that chart Garhan if you get time..

Here it is. There are other several Fly tying Proportion Charts available on the web. There are some for Wet Flies, Dry Flies, Streamers, Buzzers etc…They all follow  true to a basic style and are good to use to gauge your work.

I based this on Gary's carrot nymph, thinking it looks nasty , so hoping it will fish. It has a head full of lead.

A little experiment with polish color. Wrapped the copper rib too early so segmentation not as visible
