OK it was a rush minute and a 1/2 job cause I'm headed to ground but I took the advice of my Field Trial Staff (Mr Burns) and threw it on a 3/0 Partridge as a Spring Salmon fly. The stuff being only 1 ply would wind alot better on a smaller hook I think...like a #4  ;) The JC looks uneven but I tipped the fly so you could see the body ...It wasn't that rush rush...LOL

Looks good.  you could always tie in 2 layers  as  2 ply  cause I think you want these on big ass  hooks...........

That'll do the trick for sure, fish won't miss the flash of that body.  I like it!

How about calling that fly "The Rocket Man" 'cause all that flash, glitz & glitter reminds me of a few of Elton John's costumes from the 70's & 80's,LOL

Instead of a blender; I saw a video of a guy cutting 1" pieces of yarn into a big jar, put the lid on it (with a small hole in the lid) and then he just sticks his blower attachment from the air compressor into the hole and a few "blast" later he has a a big bunch of perfect dubbing...I'm gonna try it myself...

Murray,
Let us know how it works, I've heard about that trick before. It would be great if it worked as well as they say.

i will put my cuttings of mask, fur or other materials into a small plastic bag and then use one of those cans of air and give a few short bursts into one open corner (keep it small) and it mixes everything up really well, the bottle with hole is a good idea

I like that dubbing Mike, both loose and spun, it's nice to have options.

No Mike, that's dubbing, and winging material, etc. It just started life as wool :)

A creative use of material to be sure!

Love the idea od the compressed air.  May have to try this.......

Hint.....
Don't toss the underfur of your dyed PB   add it to your dubbing
