Mini Skagit Mist

Taking a break from bigger Spey/Dees and tied this wee fly up. Skagit Mist Variant on a #4 Bartleet Supreme. Tied to fish for Sea Trout and maybe even a salar or two. Sorry about the lack of Jungle Cock.

Rear Body: Red Seal Fur
Front Hackle: Black Cock Hackle

Throat: Guinea

I've seen you post this fly a few times now.  Are you sure that's a four and not a 6 or even an 8?  Maybe your vise jaws are just massive but it looks like a smaller fly.

Thanks man, Not real sure, but I plucked it from a #4 labeled section from my hook box, most likely a 6 or 8 that got in there.

Like McFly said, nice fly . I finally figured out how to palmer the hackle with proper results. Sort of like juggling, try all day with no progress and get it on first try after a good sleep. I been tying on size six from the start, bad experience for my first grilse because of a large hook. His depth perception would be non existent now. Looks a bit tighter than 6, but again hard to compare from pic .

This flies hackles have been halfed stripped the top fibres off the feather to ensure proper wrapping and thickness control. thanks speckles!
