A friend uses a McGinty and has caught some nice size rainbow with it. I have never used one but they work for rainbow, I'm not sure about speckles.

I also have never fished one but have noticed them in fly boxes more than a few times. Not sure what it should look like as a pattern. I more less ended up with this one by chance it's what it started to look like as I threw stuff on the hook. Think it looks a lot like one anyway, may give it a try eventually.

My mom and dad use them as a dropper on baited rig and have taken some monster specks in salt water with a bee pattern.
