A suggestion.....take one of the "travelers " soap boxes ( available at all dollar stores)cut foam to fit inside and drill holes for drainage. The plastic box is a dollar , the foam or cork is cheap and the box is deep enough to keep bigger flies from being smashed. I have a few "real" fly boxes, but I have a dozen soap boxes...they were the first boxes I had....cuz as we all know....Murray is one cheap old fart!

Started on the zuddlers today.  Nothing exciting about these.  I have tried a couple different variations but this seems to be the best one for me.  So the whole box will basically be cookie cutter replicas of this in different sizes.

Wish I kept all those tin cigarette boxes I paid bigger than big bucks for while they were the in thing.

Thanks

Yes Ty that is on a salmon iron.  I found that the finish seems to hold up better on zonker strips that take so long to dry.  Plus they are a bit heavier so it keeps that big bulky muddler head from surfing in faster current.

I have used those old tin cigarette packs for boxes in the past but they don't last.  The tin is just too thin to put up with the constant use.  The little Sucret's tins are pretty good.  The tin is a bit thicker and they are small enough that they don't warp.

Managed to do some tying in camp last time in. I've just about filled my zuddler box.

Looks like you won't have to rely too heavily on Ty with all the other projects you've got on the go ;)  Always a pleasure to see.
