Welcome to our Contests and Giveaways!I was fortunate enough that I grew up fishing in Nova Scotia and as a child had a few wonderful adults that were more than willing to help me and answer my many questions. We all know that we as Maritimers are well known for helping others. I want to add to that the passion we share for fly fishing as well. We thought if we combined the 2 we could have some very decent contests for fly tiers and anglers as well. We have plans on giveaways for photos sent in promoting Catch and Release (which we support) and fly tying. Some of the prizes will be a case of hand tied flies and for the fly tiers we will be offering such items as hooks and capes. Since we are a work in progress you will have to check back often to this page so not to miss out.
Well the response for this was greater than I expected. Some fantastic flies were sent in and I want to thank all who participated. There were 67 flies sent in from many areas as well as several from "across the pond" and I look forward to tying some of the patterns myself. Mike Sullivan from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia was the name drawn and he won a Whiting Pro Grade Hackle and a package of #14 Klinkhamer hooks. Again thanks to all that entered and stay tuned as I will be having more contests to come in the coming months. For the next contest all flies entered will be donated to trout and salmon associations here for local fund raising so stay in contact to see what the prizes will be and remember that not only are you entering to win something your also supporting a worthwhile cause. Hope you have tightlines in 2010.
